Ok so Halo 3 has finally arrived and has become a runaway success mostly due to the Micro$oft hype machine running over time, with its movie like release to fizzy and soft drinks branding.
So what's the game like...well from my first impressions the next Halo on the next generation console is graphically impressive but kind of feels at some parts like Halo 2 on steroids. Some of the multi-player maps struggle with frame rate especially with two players on the same console and uh ooh...do I see jaggies? Looks like the game has none or very little anti-aliasing. Personally I am not like most fans of Halo and just consider it an average FPS (First Person Shooter), but what is this I hear?
Apparently Halo 3 is classed by Bungie and Micro$oft as HD (High Definition), if you are new to the gaming industry HD is been promoted by both Micro$oft with its XBOX 360 and by Sony with their Playstation 3 as the step towards next generation graphics. To get a game classed as HD it needs to meet at a resolution of at least 720p but Halo 3 runs at 640p so its not a high definition game, but it is been advertised that it is capable of HD so it looks like the game uses upscaling. Well I guess the Micro$oft hype machine needs to be changed into the cover up machine and to sweep this under the Micro$oft rug of problems, Red Ring of Death its a myth according to Micro$oft.
Sorry Master Chief I guess your 80 pixels short of High Definition.
I am going to stop now as I don't want any XBOX 360 or Halo Fanboys that are better know as gamers with no life wanting to argue with me on this post.
Now that the Halo 3 is released what else do we have to look forward to? Here is my own Top Ten of the most Highly Anticipated Games that will soon be released later this year or in 2008.
One of the most anticipated games for the Sony Playstation 3, Killzone 2 looks impressive and has high expectations.
Great news...for me that is, I finally got round to booking my holiday for this year but the best part is the good deal and price I got for a stay over New Year to celebrate the start of 2008. Eight nights in the center of Berlin the second largest city in Europe. I will be going with two friends, Paul who I have known since primary school and Joe my old house mate from University.
For me this is the first time I will be on holiday in Berlin but also for my friends too, so I am not sure what to expect, what to do, where to go, what to see and what to drink (alcohol wise).
